Melody H. Clodfelter, Ed.D., Managing Associate

Dr. Clodfelter is also a Guest Lecturer in the Department of Educational Leadership and Cultural Foundations, School of Education, University of North Carolina at Greensboro, where she instructs students who are pursuing degrees and licensure for the principalship.  Her courses focus on school organization and leadership.  She is former Program Director in the Collegium for the Advancement of Schools, School of Education, UNCG and former Senior Associates with School Leadership Services.  The major theme of her past experiences is working in public policy roles with superintendents and boards of education, as well as boards of county commissioners. 

Dr. Clodfelter is an active research associate in the area of leadership development with a particular emphasis on the development of aspiring and teacher leaders, the superintendency, women and leadership, and school improvement.  Over the past ten years, she has been actively involved in the design, development, delivery, and management of leadership training and development activities and programs, including providing technical assistance and executive coaching. She has worked at the state, district, and school levels in North Carolina, Georgia, Florida, Alabama, Delaware, Tennessee, Ohio, Michigan, Missouri, South Carolina, and California. She earned a doctorate in educational leadership at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. She is co-author with Larry D. Coble and Dale L. Brubaker of SYI: Strategies for Your ImprovementA Developmental Guide for Educational Leaders Utilizing 360 Feedback (On Track Press, Inc., 2007).

Over the last ten years, Dawn Wooten has been actively involved in the design and delivery of leadership training and development activities and programs, including providing technical assistance and executive coaching. She has worked at the state, district, and school levels in North Carolina, Alabama, Georgia, Delaware, Florida, South Carolina, Tennessee, and Ohio. Since fall 2003, Ms. Wooten has served as Adjunct Professor in the Department of Educational Leadership and Cultural Foundations, School of Education, University of North Carolina at Greensboro where she has supervised students in the Master of School Administration Program and doctoral students who were completing field-based internships.

Ms. Wooten is a retired educator with 30 years of service as a high school and middle school teacher and principal and elementary principal in the Winston-Salem/Forsyth County Schools, Winston-Salem, North Carolina. Her experiences also include roles as former Special Assistant to the Superintendent for Planning and Quality Development Education and Training Manager. She is a trained master facilitator with an Ed.S. degree from Appalachian State University.
